I am getting a beautiful cocktail ring in diamond and platinum and wish to wear it often. I would like my engagement/wedding band reset in platinum to match when needed and would like to know a round approximation before I get my first estimate. Anyone have any ideas?

I have a GORGEOUS 2-piece custom wedding band that comes apart to make an engagement ring. I have the GIA certs on the center diamond. The whole ring is about a carat (however that’s spelled). I have tried Craigslist. It’s a $5000 ring and I’d like AT LEAST $1000 for it so I been posting it for about $1400…don’t really get any takers for it. I tried “Idonowidont” but I couldn’t put a picture on and nothing happened. Any other suggestions?? Thanks!!

Given the problems with diamonds (unethical sourcing, inhumane conditions in diamond mining, human abuse, etc.), I really don’t like the idea of a diamond ring. It just seems unethical to me (no offense if you have one, this is just my personal view.)

What are other options? My concern is that since our culture is so used to associating diamonds with weddings/engagements, that most people would not even recognize a non-diamond ring for what it was (engagement, wedding, etc.)

Heck - I like emeralds better anyway - I love green!

What if a girl doesn’t want a diamond? She doesn’t really like them, and she is concerned about questionable diamond/gem trade practices. What else could I buy that would be of equal quality/value/significance?

Or, on the flipside, how can I buy a diamond that I know came from a safe, legal, non-exploitative background?
