I am about to propose but have several questions. I know I am supposed to give her a wedding ring and a wedding band. I’m under the impression that the ring is the fancy one with the jewels and the band is like a second ring without jewels. Is this correct?

I know I give one to her when I propose and one during the wedding. Does she get the fancy ring when I propose and the band at the wedding or is it the other way around?

Either way, I know she gets one of those when I propose. So after I propose (and yes, I know she will accept lol), I assume she puts the ring on immediately. So is it correct that during the engagement, only the woman wears a ring? And the man does not?

Final question: At the wedding we exchange rings (or bands). Is the female supposed to get the man’s wedding ring?

As you can see, I only have a hazy idea of how the process works. I would appreciate any help one can give. Thanks in advance =)

I’ve noticed lately that I occasionally develop a rash under my wedding ring. The strange part is, it’s only on half my finger, not all the way around (it’s only on the side closest to my pinky). It starts getting itchy and small blisters form, so I’ll take it off for a few days until it clears. A few weeks go by, and it will happen again.

It’s not soap/lotion/anything getting trapped under there and not rinsed. I take off my ring when I wash my hands and when I use lotion. I’ve always just used neosporin and covered it with a band-aid when this happens.

Any idea what could be causing this, and why it’s only on one side of my finger and not all the way around?
Forgot to mention, my ring is platinum.

One more thing….whatever your answer is to my question, please address why it would only happen on one side of my finger, and always the same side.
