scenario……… you find a ring box with a 1 carat round cut diamond ring in a parking lot 2 days before valentines day, a reciept is under the thing that holds the ring upright. reciept has no charge card info or name and says cash and the 1,299 price for the ring, says store name at top of the reciept and store is in an upscale city, but no info on who it was sold to….. what do you do with the ring ???????

Take it back to the store and explain the situation. Hopefully you will get a reward.

    call the store…
they might remember who purchased it
or the person might return to the store..
all i could think was that some man paid good money to propose to his woman..
that ring deserves to go to those two people.
could always place an ad to see who was in the store on that day..and ask the people what they bought.
the ring was bought out of love..and truly deserves to go to the two people who are in love.

well as tempted as i would be to just keep it i would do the only honest thing to do and return it since it do say where it came from but i’ll make sure to give my name and phone number to the store in case the person come back for it and decides he want to leave a reward

Try to return it for the cash…. Yeah right, like the rest of you are so high and mighty. The only downside is the store may be able to trace the original purchaser if there was a barcode on the ring or receipt. Most upscale stores will issue an appraisal along with the purchase and that should at least have the name.

Turn it over to the police - after taking a picture of the ring and making a copy of the receipt - and let them locate the owner.

I would go to the store where it was purchased, ask if anyone has lost a ring. They’ll usually go back to the store,to see if an honest person turned it in.If anybody is looking for it,they have to provide a full description of the ring and the exact amount they paid for it.Also the date it was purchased. That would be the only way that I would release it,to the rightful owner. If no one claims it,I’d keep it.
