The diamond in my mom’s wedding ring fell out, what’s the best solution considering the ring won’t come off?

Due to her medications that make her fingers swell, we can’t take the ring off her finger. So now she has the prongs that held the setting sticking out and it just looks tacky. Is there any way to fix the ring?

Tell her to quit eating salt in her food for a day or so, use soap and a string to help remove the ring, and take it to a jeweler to repair. You could call a jeweler and ask if they can repair it on her finger.

Go to a jeweler and have it cut off. They can then repair it after they’ve reset the stone.

the best option is probably going to be taking your mom to the jewlery store and have them cut the ring off. (my mom had to have this done). they can replace the diamond, and resize the ring for your mom. though, since she takes a medication that makes her fingers swell you may want to look into having the ring made into an adjustable band. the jewler can place a clasp in the band that allows the band to expand a minor amount (just enough to help get the ring on and off).
