Who buys the man’s engagement/wedding ring?

March 9th, 2009
jube asked:

In the movies you always see the man giving the woman the ring, but what about his ring? Does he buy this too, or is it the woman’s purchase?

He buys it. Usually when he buys her wedding set, he gets his too so they will match.

    No one!

A man who wears an engagement or wedding ring is a SISSY!

It is MAN AND WIFE, not “husband and wife” according to the twisted and corrupted liberal ceremony and no man who has faithfulness in his heart needs a ring.

I assure you again that a man who wears a wedding ring is a SISSY or else very deceived and misguided by modern day liberal practices.

In the days that it was man and wife, the divorce rate was about 1 and a half per cent as opposed to about 50 per cent today.

    SISSIES! All of you!

After we got engaged we went together to pick out a matching set of bands. The woman should buy the man’s ring.

Now days there is no right or wrong way to purchase that ring. Really who ever can afford it should buy it….soon you will be as one so what does it matter who pays now.

The man buys all the rings, and arranges and pays for the honeymoon. The wife’s family traditionally arranges and pays for the wedding itself.

I’ve never heard of a man’s engagement ring. Why would you need one? Sounds like the jewler trying to sell another piece. And after you are married, it looks weird for a man to have many rings, unless he’s shall we say “happy”? Just the wedding rind is sufficient, and please wear that forever…good luck.

The bride buys his wedding ring.

It is not unheard of for the bride to buy an engagement ring for the groom. I did for my first husband. (My current husband didn’t want one.) Why should we girls get all the good jewelery?

Men do not traditionally get an “engagement ring” but they do get a wedding band of course.

Bride’s engagement ring and wedding band: bought by groom

Groom’s wedding band: Bought by bride

Bridal gift: Bought by bride for groom

Honeymoon: bought by groom for bride.

Typically, the bride buys the groom’s ring, but in our case, we had already lived together & had a joint checking account, so we both paid for it. These days almost anything goes.
