My husband has a titanium ring. It’s very plain, not shiny, and it was cheap! And you can’t freaking hurt the thing, like you could with gold. We got it from an independent jeweler, so you may want to have a look around at some local places.
Have a look at platinum and gold bands. Quite a few places to choose from, Tiffany’s has a really good selection if you’ve got the cash to buy them. As marriage is forever, the price is no object?

The rings my husband and I ordered are from a line called Sparta, from Scott Kay. They’re available in gold, titanium, and platinum and have engraving that looks like tribal tattoo art. Not to pricey either, as far as wedding bands go, my husband’s ring was @ $1,100 for the platinum.
I strong suggest you find a few custom jewelers would can draw you some designs and have one made exactly like you want. This is one piece of jewelry that you really have to like, so keep looking until you find THE one you will be happy with.
Also, you might consider Pawn shops AND look through some of the Antique jewelry web sites - Tias.com is a very nice site for unusual stuff. I have seen some VERY nice pieces there, and the prices are usually reasonable. I gave my husband my Great Grandfathers wedding ring - it is gold and platinum with a very nice scroll design - turns out the jeweler who made these back in the mid 1800s was very sought after, making the ring very rare and quite valuable.
It is cool to have something unique that no one else has.
Men’s wedding rings should be as simple, plain and non-descript as possible. Really. Anything other than a simple gold band is tacky and something you will regret when you are older.
