I think fake diamonds are for fake commitments and fake marriages. Real people want a real diamond gem even if it is not as big as a cubic zirconium.gem

CZ is not at all popular for an engagement ring, or wedding band. Fake stones and cheap jewelry are better left for other things, like earrings or necklaces. Most women would prefer a small diamond than a large CZ.
If you are on a tight budget, and can’t afford an overpriced retail ring, then look at the classifieds for people selling their old rings, eBay and other auction sites, and even pawn and second hand stores. I know it sounds tacky, but no one will know where you got the ring. There are many beautiful rings that people are selling for one reason or another, so don’t knock it until you’ve at least looked at what’s available.

I honestly think the ring doesn’t matter, its the relationship.

I didn’t get a wedding ring until one year after the marriage.

But, maybe instead of a zircon look into clear saphire or topaz, they have a nicer light reflectiong (aka sparkles) and look more like diamonds.

Remember if you don’t get a diamond then you can probably get a bigger stone, no one needs to know its not real,

It is all in how you value items. If you really don’t care about what you have as in items, but you are happy with your relationship, your engagement ring can be anything you want. It is all up to the people involved.

Is it popular at all? I think not…a diamond is still the best choice for an engagement ring. I would rather have a small diamond ring than a big cubic zirconia engagement ring. Hell, I would prefer not receiving an engagement ring at all if my boyfriend cannot afford it, rather than get a fake diamond ring.

Not. That’s just cheap. I know diamonds aren’t the cheapest things to buy, but it is a symbol of a BIG commitment.

Just my opionion, but I’d rather have a speck of a diamond than a big CZ.

We are already married, but I just received my e.r. two weeks ago and I love it!! No ring is better, just save up and get a real one later in life. :D

It’s probably really unpopular. My first engagment ring was a cz because he/we couldn’t afford a real one at the time. About a year after we were married, be bought me a real one (although I didn’t care, I don’t wear it anyway). The ring is not important. Your marriage and faithfulness is what’s important.

Don’t worry about what is popular, get what you want and is affordable within a set budget.

Don’t let what other people say, and or, think about CZ. If the budget is CZ, get CZ, don’t feel badly that it is not a diamond, also, many CZs look like diamonds. At another time, you may want to get a diamond, but, for now, go with the CZ.

Well, my engagement ring and wedding band is CZ. I wanted it that way. Not only does it look the same to the untrained unknowing eye, but it is cheaper, and I could get a bigger stone. My Fiance was looking at diamonds, but I just didnt want one. We got engaged in High School and I am a very forgetful person. I knew the chances of me losing this ring was pretty high. And sure enough one day I left it in the bathroom. Thank God I went to a small school where everyone knew I was engaged and knew it was my ring. Its pretty shallow if the people on here are saying that just bc a ring isnt a diamond means the relationship doesnt mean as much. Honestly that is such BS!! if you really loved someone why makes them spend a sh!t load of money on some dumb ring. The only real purpose of a ring is to show other people you are taken. I love my ring, but I love my fiance more then some piece of jewlery and he knows it. So my love is real, who cares if the ring isnt???

yikes…. um, well the whole idea to a diamond ring is it lasts “forever”, symbolizing that your love for each other will last forever. CZ is just glass…
so i guess i’m trying to say it is not popular. rather it is unconventional in a bad way…
