diamond wedding rings
Kristin P asked:

How much would you buy or do you think this ring could be sold for?

It is a 3 carat diamond ring
Center stone is one carat
rounds in center ring total one carat
each band is half carat
diamonds are set in white gold

Ring was recently re-dipped, not worn since dipping, ring is from Helzberg diamonds, and warranty is uptodate along with 6 month inspections up to date as well.
Also, all three bands are saudered together and the ring is size 7 1/4.

honestly, if you have a warranty then you should go have it reappraised for free from Helzberg, and get a professional opinion. It’s a beautiful set, and using a price set by anyone who is less than qualified would result in a significant financial loss on your part.

    Good luck

At the diamond center…A white gold ring with a .33 carat diamond in it is 499 bucks.

    A full carat over 1100

Granted you cant just look at the carats…how about color? Any imperfections? What is the all around quality of the ring? You should probably give that info as well as it greatly reflects a Diamonds worth.

You should have it appraised, that’s usually $75. But the amount that it’s appraised for is NOT what you sell it for or what you’ll even get out of it. Normally what you pay is about 1/3 of what it’s appraised for. And used, I’d say even less than that. To be honest, I wouldn’t pay over $2500 for it but that’s just me. Try craigslist if you’re trying to sell or it take it back to Helzberg and ask them what they think. There are many places you could sell it if that’s what your asking about.

Do you know the clarity and color? What is the quality of the cut? Those things make a HUGE difference in what you can sell for.

Is the gold 14kt or 18kt?

If you don’t know these things, don’t expect to get more than $1500 or so.

I suggest you have it appraised. Honestly, from looking at it…the quality doesn’t look that great. I’m no diamond expert but I know a quality diamond when I see it. The clarity and color are always a dead give away. It may be 3 carats but remember that with diamonds it’s about the 4 c’s: carat, color, clarity, and cut.

Take it to the place where it was purchased & they should appraise it for you for free. After all, they did get their money from it in the first place. See if they w/write down the info for you so you can remember. Then I would ck. your yellow pages in the phone book where they buy gold & jewelery. See what they w/give you for it. I would go to at least two & three places if you can, including where you purchased it. There are too many things involved w/diamonds, & you need a professional to give you the worth of it. Ask Helzberg what would be the lowest price you should accept for it. Most places think folks are “dumb” or inexperienced w/the buying & selling or jewelery, so they’ll give you a ridiculous price on it. So when you go to see what you can sell it for, try to act like you at least know something about what you’re selling. ie. it has a good clarity to the large stone, there is no carbon that shows making it a good color. (carbon shows up as gray areas in a diamond making the stone have less color when looking at it w/o a microscope jewelers use, & IF there IS a lot of carbon in the larger stone, it can be seen by the naked eye) So the more they think you’re up on diamonds, the less they’ll think they can take you over so you won’t get the worth of it. The carat of the gold is usually engraved on the inside of the ring as in 12k to 14k.. Good luck to you….:)
