How much did your wedding rings cost?

diamond wedding rings
muchadoaboutnothing asked:

I’m sorry if this is a sensitive subject. My fiance and I have never bought jewelry before (other than the engagement ring). We want to get 2-tone rings with no diamonds. We have no idea what an average ring costs. We are just beginning to search and don’t really know anything about rings.
Thank you for all of your answers so far. My fiance had the engagement ring custom made using an online company. It turned out great (just too big), but we don’t want to purchase our wedding rings on line. We want to be able to see them in person first.

I think we live in a more expensive area, which is part of the reason I was curious about the average cost of rings. If the rings we’ve been looking at are a lot more than what seems to be the average, it might be worth it to us to look elsewhere.

tradition is that the engagement ring’s value is to equal one month of his income.

Go back to the store where the engagement ring was bought as they also have wedding bands. There are many prices to select from …

go walk around and check out the prices from shop,
it will give you a better idea on the different model and prices
do it together and i believe you will enjoy the process of window shopping and buying, good luck hunting,
    congratulations and god bless you

You would be able to find those bands for around $100 and up, depending on the width and quality you want. Just choose what you can comfortably afford. Didn’t your engagement ring have the option of a matching band? You don’t have to do that, just wondering…

I have been searching for two tone rings as well. The ones I have looked at ranged from $425 to $825, though the woman at the store offered to give us the $825 ring for $770. I’m not really sure if that’s a high price or average.

It probably depends, also, on whether the ring is 14 carat or 18 carat, etc. I don’t remember what the rings I looked at were.

My ring ended up costing around $800 (which I thought was too expensive, but compared to a lot of women I know, it’s fairly cheap) Good luck.

Our wedding bands cost a total of $600. I believe that it will be different depending on where you live. You could check out Zales.com and get some ideas on prices there.

I don’t know what everyone else is looking at, but you all got off really cheap! My band cost around $1200 and his cost $1450. Although that was for platinum, which is a little more. I have seen decent gold bands for under $1000.

hint… stay away from jewelry stores on the street.

what I mean by that, is if you go to the mall you have at least 3 or 4 jewelery stores together. They tend to compete with each other, and you can usually find similar styles in all of them. go to one, pick out a set, get a price AND a wait time. (they have to be ordered in your size) and then shop around. Do your shopping in the same day so that salespeople will remember you if you come back. Also, most people can’t tell the difference between white gold & platinum

our rings cost us $300 for the pair but we had to wait 12 wks because we had to wait for a stock order to come or pay another $200 to have them “made” ….such bs

My husband’s gold band was purchased from a going-out-of-business sale for $70, regular $150. He got a thicker size, too, so I thought that was good. My small gold band with a few diamonds (very small, more like chips) was about $300 and we had custom designs done on the side to match my engagement ring. So this was a good price, too!

We are getting married this summer and have just finished purchasing our bands.

Mine cost $500 and was one sale half price. We actually bought it before we bought the engagement ring! It has diamonds in the band so that is why it is more expensive.

My fiance’s band just cost us $725. It’s a two tone ring…no diamonds.

We buy all our jewlery (including pearls for my wedding day) at Birks. Birks offers a number of great rewards for regular customers and offers exceptional services. They have great warranties on their products (including replacing lost diamonds up to 5 years after purchase). They may be a bit pricier then most places but I put my full trust in the quality of their products and their service. To me, the little extra money is worth it when you are happy with the company!!

$250.00 as long as i have one on my finger for symbolic purpose i could care less… on the other hand if you prefer to take out a mortgage for a ring and then get insurance on it if it is stolen that is another subject
