Is it safe to clean wedding rings with Alka Seltzer?

I’ve read that you can use Original Alka Seltzer (put into water, just like you’d normally use it) to clean jewelry by letting the jewelry soak in it. I’m wondering if this is common, safe, etc. My rings are white gold with diamonds. Seems awfully abrasive sounding to me, I would hate to end up with scratchy looking rings and I certainly don’t want to hurt the diamonds… Thanks in advance!

Why chance it. If you take your rings back where you purchased them or basically any jewely store - they will clean them for you for free.
yes it is my mom just did that yesterday!!!!
If they’re real diamonds, and I asusme they are, you should take them to a jeweler, or purchase a jewelry cleaning solution specifically made for the type of jewelry you’re trying to clean. Don’t take a chance on ruining your expensive jewelry!! You can find different types of jewelry cleaner anywhere from a jewelery store to the wal-mart jewelry counter. It might cost more than Alka-seltzer, but it’s worth it if you don’t ruin your rings!
of couse not you beezy
I work at a jewelry store and i think that you should just get it cleaned at a store. If not then soak it in boiling water that will work just fine. I wouldn’t suggest the alka seltzer!
