What kind of ring should a engagement ring look like (in comparison to the wedding ring)?
mankind3k asked:
The engagement ring has diamonds, and the wedding ring is gold?
Weddings Engagement Diamonds, Engagement Ring, Ring Engagement, Wedding Engagement
Kinda. The engagement ring is more special, bigger ring, bigger diamond, more carats.
The wedding ring can even be a simple gold band.
Typically, an engagement ring has some sort of stone or stones in it (diamonds, sapphire, etc.) and a wedding ring is only a band or has very small stones in it. The type of metal doesn’t matter, although I would assume most people want them to match.
the engagement ring should be a solitair, preferabley diamond. The wedding ring will be a bit more elaborate.
i should be bought in a super market from a red box and have a clear plastic round circle around it
It all depends. You usually buy a band that compliments the engagement ring. If your engagement ring is really fancy, possibly a more simple wedding band would make more sense. If you have a simple engagement ring and want to spice it up you can get a band with diamonds around it. If you bring your engagement ring to the jewelers, they will have some suggestions.
nearly but no they should both match like colour wise ie both gold or both silver however the engagement ring should have a diamond or something on
just make sure they work as a set
hope i helped xx
The engagement ring should be alot more expensive
But yes the engagement ring has diamonds. The wedding ring is either just a gold band or it could have diamonds on it. The best way to do it is to buy a wedding set. It makes sure that the wedding band matches the engagement ring. More importantly is the 4 C’s. and never buy jewelery at walmart go to a real jewelery store and ask about the 4 C’s cut clarity color
i think they both should be white gold.
the engagement ring:
a single large or big enough sized diamond.
wedding ring:
a single band of white gold, with a script on the inner-side of it. A saying, a very small quote, or just simply….
I love you
It doesn’t have to look any one way. Some engagement rings come in “bridal sets” with a matching wedding band. Other people opt not to have an e-ring at all, and just choose a wedding band with diamonds in it. The only thing I would say is to make sure the type of metal and band width match if you plan on wearing them on the same finger together. I know a girl who just got married and her e-ring is a white-gold diamond solitaire with a very skinny band on it, and the wedding band is a much thicker, plain sterling silver band that doesn’t match the color or width of the e-ring at all!! Needless to say, they look terrible together, so consider that when you purchase your rings.
depends on what your style is. mine is a big diamond with diamonds on both sides and my wedding ring is a row of diamonds. Theese days just about anything goes. People even use colored stones like rubbies. So, I guess it is just whatever you like.
You would want the engagement and wedding ring to coordinate.
Traditionally a diamond solitare for an engagement ring and a matching width band for the wedding ring. A wrap is nice for a wedding band too. That’s where more stones wrap around the solitaire.
If you travel a lot, it’s nice to have the wedding band seperate from the engagement ring, so that when you travel you don’t have to worry about losing the diamond or having it stolen.
The engagement ring is generally a single stone ring and the stone is most usually ( some will say must be) a diamond
The wedding ring is usually a band of gold or white gold or even platinum. It might have stones or be engraved or carved or any design but it generally looks more flat where the engagement ring is raised. Hope that helpes you.
An engagement ring usually has 1 main solitary diamond and a wedding ring is usually a small band.
An engagement ring can be anything you like. Traditionally, an engagement ring would be a gold/ platinum band with a solitaire (a single stone) such as a classic diamond, whilst a wedding ring would be a plain band of gold or platinum. I don’t see any reason why you should stick rigidly to these rules though.
I got to choose my own engagement and wedding rings and I went for something which reflected my personality and I knew I would still love in fifty years regardless of changing fashions.

Yes, a traditional engagement ring has diamonds and a wedding ring (also known as a wedding band) is usually made of some type of precious metal (typically gold or silver). The wedding ring CAN be diamond, but it’s not usual. Maybe this will help give you a good idea of what they should look like:

Wedding ring:
Most rings are now sold as bridal sets - the engagement ring typically has a larger center stone, that may or may not have smaller stones around it and the band. The wedding band can be plain or have small stones going across it.
You can also get sets now where the wedding band fits onto or ‘wraps’ the engagement ring:
you have the right idea,

something simple like these.
Generally, yes. But they can be whatever you like.
An engagement ring traditionally has a diamond solitaire, but the wedding ring can also have diamonds.
My last wedding ring had nine diamonds, and the engagement ring had the same pattern of diamonds, plus a solitaire.
This time, I’m foregoing an engagement ring, and just getting a wedding ring — a diamond band. It’s a matter of personal taste, whether or not you have a plain gold, etched gold, or diamond wedding ring.
Engagement ring usually has one larger looking precious gem/stone (diamond, pearl, sapphire, amber, etc) and may have a few other ones around it (solitaire, three stone, multistone, etc)
Wedding bands are much simpler. They can still contain diamonds but not like the engagement ring and are usually his/hers meaning they somewhat look alike.

I hope this answers your question!
Usually the engagement ring has some flash to it, usually in the form of a stone or group of stones. In recent years diamonds have become popular. Hundreds of years ago sapphires (specifically blue ones) were. Some people prefer different stones. My mother’s ring is a large ruby with diamond side stones. I have a close friend who opted to not have an engagement ring and get a very fancy wedding band instead.
The most popular style of engagement rings today is a diamond(Usually round or princess cut) set in platinum, often(but not necessarily) with diamond side stones.
The wedding band is usually much simpler than the engagement ring and can be a plain band of any metal. The metal for the bride’s band should match whatever metal the engagement ring is as a general rule. These days wedding bands or engagement rings can be yellow gold, white gold, platinum, titanium, stainless steel… there’s a lot of options out there! A wedding band can have stones in it, but the stones should be smaller than the center stone of the engagement ring. Also note that the two rings do not have to be purchased together.
Your best bet is to talk to a jeweler. My boyfriend and I recently went ring shopping and I was surprised at how little he knew. He spoke with the woman at the jewelry store and I think he learned a lot. I showed him a ring I loved and I am confident that he will choose something that is my style.
I am sure if you go to any jewlery website, you will see some great examples. Also, websites such as Amazon.com have an engagement ring section that is very informative… I like the tiffany.com website because it shows you how the engagement ring looks with a selection of wedding bands (although most Tiffany rings are expensive).
