My boyfriend proposed to me in the most unexpected situation..and he did not have a ring with him at that time. Now, we are having an engagement party next month where would exchange the rings. We are going to pick the rings together. Currently we live in different towns and we have decided to have a wedding next year or so..when I end my contract with my company and move to his place. isn’t it customary to exchange rings for wedding as well? So, we get two rings?

I have seen girls wearing an engagement ring with a diamond and a wedding band which is more simpler. But, I have never seen guys wearing two rings!!

I had the ring scheduled at $2000 and it was close to 1 karat. Also the insurance company has a program whereby they send me discounted diamonds via Fed Ex to look at that they get a cost break on from selected dealers. The insurance company has an agreement with select dealers to send their loss claims to the dealer and in return they give the insurance company a discount on diamonds. The diamonds are all certified.
My main question is if I have replacement cost do I have the right to get my wife a comparable diamond in color, clarity etc. regardless of cost and is the insurance company obligated to pay for it?
