It’s not about the size, it’s about the sentiment behind it.

Honestly it should be as big as you can possibly afford. Save money by avoiding the big name jewelers, as all diamond rings are pretty much the same as long as they are certified.

The tradition in the UK if for the ring to cost one month of the grooms salary.

I presume actual size depends on the grooms pay packet.

the old tradition was it should cost the equivalent of 2 years salary.

In Japan, the engagement ring is expected to cost about 3 months of the groom-to-be’s salary. The wedding rings are not so expensive as they usually are simple gold or platinum bands with no jewels. The couple buys the rings for each other. My U.S. family said that it was about the same there too.

we all get so caught up in the ring thing. it’s just a tradtion. the size of the ring has nothing to do with the size of the heart.

try to buy the one u really love dont think that if its big so its better cause the love between u 2 wont become deeper with the size of ring.and be sure u sometimes forget ure ring in ure hand but never forget the love in ure heart.

true size doe snot matter it is the fact that you were given one that matters, i would have loved a diamond but got a spectacular ruby and i am so happy with that. no need to throw it back at him cause i dreamed of having a diamond.

You seemed to have forgotten the original symbolism of the ring. It’s round,a never ending circle, like your love & life together, it’s never ending, the love you share should be never ending, then comes the wedding & marriage, which should be never ending, then you start a family together, which is also never ending. That’s why a part of the vows say til death do us part, then it is ending. If couples took as much time to put the size of their love & respect for each other into the marriage instead of how big the rock is, maybe there would be less divorces.
