but my question is, is the wedding band just a simple gold/silver/Platinum metal band, or is it basically another diamond ring? I spent the last 3 years of college saving up for this freaking ring (2 carats, flawless clarity, colorless, round brilliant).

I didn’t want to embarass myself and her giving her a crappy 1/4 carat ring with a ton of inclusions, so I invested a lot of money to get a nice ring, but I can’t afford a wedding band of the same quality.

Okay, this may sound dumb, but I am not sure how all this works as I have never been engaged before and my mom isn’t around to tell me how it really works! My boyfriend recently bought my engagement ring after 3 years. The center diamond is 1ct marquise and directly on the sides it has baguettes and then on the out side that would look like a wedding band but is all put together on both sides are round brilliant cut diamonds which total the engagement ring at 2.50cts. Now my question is this…. do you still get another wedding band? I am sort of confused about how to do this if we will be looking for wedding bands as well, or if what I have is it or is it just personal preference? I mean, how do you put another one or two sides to this already pretty large ring? I am not vain and don’t need anything too big, but since we are doing a really small wedding, we invested more in the jewelry since I will wear it the rest of my life and not something that just lasts one day! No smartass answers would be appreciated it but I just want to know if what I have should be it, or are you suppose to get another one?! Thanks!

Well, I handed my ring over to the jewelers and now I have to wait, which is killing me. It should be done by Thursday. I just pray that it comes out just like how it was before but a few sizes up.
