Can I wear silver and gold rings together?

November 12th, 2007
diamond wedding rings
goldengirl asked:

I have a gold diamond ring that I like to wear everyday (it’s not an engagement/wedding ring though) but all of my other rings are silver. I generally don’t care what people think (I don’t like labels/looking like a walking billboard) but I don’t want to look tacky either. I just want to feel confident and present myself well. What do you think? Can I wear them together? THANKS :)

Silver and gold together generally don’t look very good together. It very much depends on the tones of the silver and gold. If you’re not sure that you could pull it off, I wouldn’t wear it. If you are confident in your choices of rings, go ahead and wear the gold and silver together.
Something else you could do is wear your gold ring but every once in a while, you could take it off and switch to a silver ring.
Don’t wear too many rings at once because that looks very tacky. Simple accessorizing is very fashionable and looks very nice.

Just be sure to not overdo anything.

Yes, there used to be a rule about only silver or only gold, but either I just don’t care much about it, or it’s changed…I like how they look together.

Maybe find a piece or two that incorporates both tones?

well, honestly it depends on the quality of the silver rings, if they are a matte silver as opposed to a shiny silver, i wouldn’t do it, that would be along the lines of tacky, if the silver is like shiny, with maybe a stone or two, then more power to you, cause shiny silver and whit gold look the same to me

Silver and gold do sometimes look good together.
( Depending on the way they look) Usually it looks tacky. They usually just don’t mix very well.

I think you can do anything you want to do, it’s not a big deal as much anymore what you wear together…. but the key word you used in your question was confident! If you feel good about it and want to wear the ring with the others, do it…and show the world that it’s all about you… being who you are! You can present yourself and show your confidence,… and not worry about what anyone else thinks or says… I say, YOU GO GIRL!
