Ponyride asked:

a solitaire setting ring or a 3-stone wedding ring? Is round cut diamond better than a square one?

Depends on your taste. A round or emerald cut solitare with bagettes on the side is always classy and timeless.

i prefer round cut. And i prefer the multi-stone wedding band. It just depends on the girl. If she’s like me and not exactly girly you really dont want to get a huge solitaire or three stone. Just talke to her and ask what she wants. It’s more of a lifestlye decision then a fashion or timeless. Good luck and congratulations!!

well it really depends on what YOU like! i personally like the 3 stone, square cut! i like that the 3 diamonds represent past, present and future!

round & solitaire are timeless and square & multi stone are fashionable.
Personally, I like round with multi stones - a little of both

I like Brilliant Round, it has more sparkle and catches the light in so many ways. I love solitaire set in platinum. I also really like Cushion Cut rings accented with emeralds.
I am not the traditional kind of girl. I want my engagment ring to be a solitaire diamond with emeralds maybe around the band.

Does it really matter? you sound like a gold digger who only wants to look “good”.

Either setting sounds timeless to me. I think that a brilliant cut (round) diamond is more timeless than a princess cut (square) diamond.

a sqaure diamond is now the trend.

however, diamonds depend on your style.

Take this diamond test to find out yours:

    hope this helps!

it depends on what you prefer. its a matter of taste really. i think the solitary square cut ones are so much prettier. and i think if you do the round one, do it with three. that’s just me.

It depends on your taste. Round cuts are more traditional. I prefer a Princess cut. My wedding ring is a princess cut diamond with baguettes on each side all set in platinum.

get whatever you like. I dont like solitaire’s for me, but lots of my friends have them with either plain wedding bands or diamond bands. 3 stones are popular but they are tooo popular for me. I got a really different ring, that was actually custom made (and still very affordable ;) I saw a ring I liked at the store but it had yellow adn white diamonds so i had them remake it just a little bigger with all white diamonds to be more traditional and teh band is really small and curves around the ring so they fit together.

go look around and get what catches your eye! theres so many different rings out there :)

It’s really a matter of preference. But what I found out recently from my jeweller is that a shaped diamonds value would fluctuate over time as compared to a round cut diamond. It got me thinking & there’s some truth in it. A round cut diamond is how a diamond will always be known for. Whereas a shaped diamond goes in & out of fashion.

Just thought I’d share that bit.

If you’re looking for timeless, go with the round.

In my opinion, ALL diamonds are fashionable! : ) My wedding ring is princess cut for the main stone, with princess cuts along the band. My Mom’s wedding ring has round stones, and it too is beautiful. Its just goes on your taste! If you love it, its fahionable and timeless!! : )

The classic, timeless cut is the round/brilliant stone. It can be either a solitaire, or one with smaller shoulder stones.

These are completely a matter of personal preference. A ring with 3 stones of 1 carat weight each would be cheaper than a solitaire ring of 3 carat diamond. Similarly a round diamond would definitely be more expensive than a square cut. These are some of the practical factors that are good to know and the rest depends on your personal choice. If you are looking out for good quality certified diamond rings, try . They have an amazing collection and is my personal favorite. I am sure you will like it too!
