I am trying to sell my wedding ring. The main diamond is a little over 5 carats. I am not sure of how to go about selling it. I definitely don’t want to be scammed or ripped off. What’s the best way to sell? How do I make sure I am getting the best deal?

you are right to be careful about being ripped off. i would suggest that you compare prices of new diamonds of similar characteristics as yours and then depending on the state your diamond is in sell it for a fraction of the price of a new diamond.
diamonds lose their value quickly and that is why the second hand market for diamonds never picked off.
it may help if you have a certificate that came with your ring when you purchased it as that will show that it is a genuine.
you could sell it on ebay or take it to a local auction or even to jewelry shops.
but the starting point is definitely shopping around to know the current prices.
