She probably means 24 kt gold, not a 24 kt diamond. One…it would cost in the millions and two…it would be about the size of a baseball.

It is very unlikely such a diamond that large would be mounted on a ring.
More likely the reference was to the quality of the gold used for the ring. In Gold, karat refers to purity. 24 karat gold is 100% gold, whereas 14 karat gold is like 56 or 58%.
My ring is 13 ctw, and it cost over 1 million. It depends on the quality of the diamonds.
