Jo asked:

And where can I take it. Anyone have and ideas on how much it would cost? Thanks for any tips.

I would take it to a zales or a jewler nearest to you. Yeah you can put a bigger one in it, but the setting would be replaced. Not sure about the cost.

Well you can never replace the value meaning of your first diamond. It depends on the diamond ring’s quality, carat, size, and cut. It would be hard to determine the price without all of those.

Take your ring to a good jeweler. They can tell you if your setting will take a larger stone.

Price depends on the diamond you select. If you have a jewelry rider on your insurance policy, it may cover some of the cost.

Sure you can! You should choose a local jeweler that lives in or near the same town as you. Make sure they’ve been in business long enough to not be a fraud. Careful careful - I would buy my new diamond online - much better deals online.

Yes..any jeweler would be able to handle that request. I cannot recommend any specific jewelers because I do not know what area you are in.
