Will a round diamond engagement ring go with a Baguette’s wedding band?

Mrs Sherry asked:

My fiance got me a 1/2 caret white gold round solitaire engagement ring.
My Mother in Law wants to hand down her Gold Baguette wedding band. Will it go with my diamond or will it clash.

The shapes are not the same so as long as you don’t mind, the diamonds will be the same stone and make it “go”.

Personally, I really like baguette’s so I think they would be fine.

It probably will clash. But you could always use the gold and diamonds to make other jewelery.

I don’t think it will clash, i’m just concerned if it will fit mesh on your hand or if it will be difficult and moving a lot and awkward to go about daily activities with these two different shaped rings moving around on your hand. good luck- gold and silver(white gold) are now being placed together very commonly. My mother has a necklace with both yellow and white gold and its beautiful. So if thats the concern don’t worry- i’d just worry about the ability to fit properly on your finger. especially if you have little hands like me.

YOU have to try them on together. One combination of rings may not work for one person, while they go great for another. Can you get a picture of his mothers ring? Then at least you will have an idea how its going to look.
Some people do two-tone well. My sister has a giant two-tone ring, it totally fits her personality!

Are you talking about wearing them together? If so, you’ll have to see first.

Another option is that you have both rings reset into one ring–that will ensure that you have the solitaire AND the baguettes all on one ring to your specifications.
